Federation architecture refers to the architectural style of Australian homes built around the decades before and after 1900 AD. “The Monterey” was built in the early 1900s as a private waterside residence and guesthouse. Falling into dereliction, the mansion was completely restored and turned into a restaurant and residence, eventually being converted into 5 luxury strata apartments in the 1980s.
Heritage listed and regaining its original Queen Anne Federation features, there are magnificent character features throughout the building.
